Q-Does York Adams Academy provide transportation?
A-No, students are responsible for their own transportation to and from York Adams Academy.
Q-The York Learning Center (former Central York High School) has a lot of entrances. Where is the entrance to the York Adams Academy?
A-Around the back of the building, off of 6th Avenue you will see the York Adams Academy sign. Our entrances is to the right of the sign (Door #8)
Q-Do you offer GED’s?
A-No, this is a diploma program. Students who graduate from York Adams Academy receive a duel diploma from their home school district and York Adams Academy. This diploma is recognized by the Pennsylvania Department of Education.
Q- Do you have graduation ceremonies?
A-Yes, we have very well attended winter and spring graduation ceremonies.
Q-How many students graduate from York Adams Academy each year?
A-Between 130 and 150 students receive their high school diplomas from York Adams Academy each year.
Q-Are York Adams Academy and York County High School the same school?
A-Yes, York County High School became York Adams Academy in the 2008-2009 school year.
Q-When are classes offered?
A-York Adams Academy follows an open entry and open exit policy.
Students may be enrolled at any time of the school year. York Adams Academy offers three sessions per day. Students must commit to a minimum of 15 hours per week attendance, and they must attend a specific session consistently.
Sessions include the following:
Morning Session-8:00 am to 11:00 am [Monday - Friday]
Mid-day Session (York Site only)-11:15 am to 2:15 pm [Monday - Friday]
Evening Session (York Site only)-5:00 pm to 8:45 pm [Monday -Thursday]
